Jimong's storyGaegyeong, capital of Goryeo, early in the tenth century. A boy of eighteen read the king's dream.
“This dream says that one day you shall rule the Three Han as one.”

The king took away the boy's name and gave him a new one.
Jimong: one who knows dreams.

For sixty years he read dreams and stars.
He saw signs of an uprising before anyone else and had the king's bedchamber moved.
That night, a man with a blade entered the old bedchamber. It stood empty.
Because of a drunken mistake, he lived eleven years in exile.
Past seventy, he was called back to the palace. Once more, he read the signs of a rebellion.
In 987, he closed his eyes.
The ledger in which he read the dreams of kings stopped there.

A thousand years later, the ledger opens again. This time, the one who tells the dream is not a king. It is you.

Jimong's promise
“When a dream is good, I shall say so. When a dream gives me pause, I shall say that too. Yet I shall not frighten you. And I shall write down where you would do well to take care.”
